Laura Baynton - Trustee

Laura Baynton is head of the ‘What Works’ team in the Cabinet Office  which aims to encourage local and national decision-makers to generate, share and adopt robust evidence to inform better public spending decisions.

Previously, Laura was head of strategy at the Youth Justice Board and spent several months as a Churchill Fellow exploring innovative  youth justice approaches in Denmark, the US and Brazil, including alternatives to secure custody, and how best to tackle the over-representation of children in care within custody.

Laura has also worked at the UN and the Treasury, and is currently a mentor for Year Here  - a postgraduate course in London designed to cultivate entrepreneurial approaches to entrenched social problems, and a Trustee for Settle – a social enterprise supporting young homeless people.
